Interactive visual & audio installation

It is important to ask why people blindly follow the crowd & to try having an open mind in the choices we make that set us within or apart from it.

My interactive audio & visual installation explores this notion, where there are defined patterns in the most random thing, and chaotic messes within the most orderly thing; were not equal to “2” doesn’t mean that it has to be more, nor less.

Through this, I wanted to open a conversation with audiences who interacted with it through the similar nature of sounds: where noise is the indistinguishable combination of other sounds, and it can be beautiful too. Inspired by the methodology of Mexican - Canadian artist Rafael Lozano - Hemmer, “the work is not teleological or ontological, more about dialogical because the moment people interact with the installation, the art is created”.

Due to the “community nature” of the work, it evolves unpredictably as more people join in simultaneously. I also experimented with traditional Vietnamese northern folk music patterns and images of characters from different languages. Perhaps, they are just different point of views that the communities used to express the same thing.
